Jared Keh
Hi, my name is Jared Keh, a Singaporean living in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I’m the director/writer/producer type at MaidenSF.
I used to work as an interactive designer and art director for this guy named David, and then in 2011, after about 6 years of ad work, I realized that I much preferred making films.
Since then, through numerous efforts, I’ve discovered that I have a knack for short form media and navigating its constraints and emotive punctuations. My background in ad agencies and visual design means I’m more than capable of crafting comprehensive creative solutions for projects both massive and miniscule. I’ve helped both big corporations as well as individuals realize their visions, and am equally comfortable collaborating and managing large teams as I am with clever bootstrapping in nimbler situations.
MaidenSF is my opportunity to create powerful stories for a modern audience, and to make the movies that I want to see.
HEAD OF PRODUCTION
V Tran
Siri at Apple thinks I’m a Roman numeral. I also get “Vendetta” a lot. Ready? It’s Vuong.
I picked up my first camera in 9th grade as a hobby, kept it as a passion, and now it’s my career. As Head of Production, I oversee everything technical related at MaidenSF and MaidenVN. Most of time, you will find me planning with the creative team and coordinating with the technical team to set the standards for visual quality and optimize the production process. I am also a certified BMD colorist. And just like everyone here, seeing ideas and stories come to life is what makes my job so rewarding.
I am a 17 year old born and bred Vietnamese and an 11 year old Californian. I make sure to fuse the two cultures as much as I can from these two sides of the Pacific Ocean. The best way to summarize what I do outside of work is through this Two Truths and a Lie:
PROJECT MANAGER
Jacqueline Pham
My name is Jacqueline Pham. I am a project manager at MaidenSF, acting as a vital link between clients and the production team, including organizing timelines, contacting clients and managing budgets for upcoming projects.
I worked with Y&R Vietnam as a Senior Account Executive. Then at 25, I was young, ambitious and a bit of a workaholic, so I started my own advertising company. After doing that for awhile, I went back to work for some other local agencies as an Account Manager for another 5 years.
In 2011, I moved to California to pursue my MFA at the Academy of Art University in Advertising as a Creative Strategist. I believe I am a lifelong learner. I am intuitive, imaginative, empathic, but very detailed-oriented and rational when it comes to making important decisions.
I enjoy living a life full of surprises, and becoming part of MaidenSF was an unexpected but pleasant turn of events. I feel creative, energetic, and genuine working with the team and I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
CREATIVE PRODUCER
Nanako Fukui
My name is Nanako Fukui.
Originally from Tokyo, I came to California in 2008 without knowing where my path would take me, but storytelling has always been my first love and I decided to study directing at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco. There, I made my directorial debut, "Between the Sun and Me", a narrative short film which received notable recognition including the Official Selection at Palm Beach International Film Festival, a place at the Short Film Corner of Cannes Film Festival, and swept Best Picture, Best Actress, and Best Director at the Academy of Art University’s Media Awards.
Since then, I’ve gone on to direct several music videos, short films, commercials, and a documentary for Harper's Bazaar Men China. My ability to multitask and see projects of all sizes to fruition has also helped me perform exceptionally as an Assistant director on high profile commercial sets for companies like Huawei and E-Hi.
As a creative producer at MaidenSF, I aim to cultivate creativity, learn from other cultures, meet new people, and use this as a great opportunity to inspire people.
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR
Yung-Jae Chen
Greetings, the name’s Yung-Jae Chen. I’m a 1st generation Bay Area native with roots spanning the United States, China and Taiwan. In 2018, alongside several folks from MaidenSF, I wrote, directed and produced RUNNER - my debut short intended for the festival circuit. RUNNER premiered at the 31st Annual IMAGINE Film Festival in Amsterdam and had its US premiere at CAAMFest, the largest Asian American film festival in the country. Professionally, I’ve got 8+ years of experience working in the commercial, advertising and media industry. In the past several years, I’ve led story-first commercials and campaigns for the likes of Google, Activision, NVIDIA, and more. By way of passion, people would describe me as an unabashed cinema psychopath, an always-on tinkerer, and a loud sneezer. I received my double BA in Film & Media Studies and Political Science from Dartmouth College.
